I recently had the opportunity to teach a life knowledge lesson at Kennard-Dale. I chose to do this lesson on first impressions. I thought that the best class to teach this in would be the leadership class. In this lesson we talked about how to make a good first impression, when we have experiences first impressions, and how to have a good handshake.

I thought that this lesson went well and I was able to have a conversation with the students instead of lecturing them and allowed them to have input. When we were practicing how to shake hands it was interesting seeing how the students improved throughout the activity. This lesson was a great way for students to improve their first impression skills and get to know their classmates. This lesson taught me that I need to be flexible with my time and allow for discussion during a lesson like this. I can use the information that I learned during this experience when I am an agriscience teacher because it allowed me to relay information to students in a relatable way. This experience was so fun and I am so excited to be teaching in just a few short weeks!

Thank you for reading this story with Ms. Sweeten. See you next time!
