Last month I traveled to Harrisburg with a group of my students to attend the State Legislative Leadership Conference (SLLC).

At this conference students were broken up into two groups: the house and the senate. In these groups they learned the process of passing a bill and a little about parliamentary procedure. After all that learning, the students were even able to attend a dance party hosted by the convention! They had a great time.

As for my experience I had the opportunity to connect with many educators from around the state. There is so much that I can learn from these people. On the last day of the conference we had breakfast with out regions senator where she was able to educate the students and learn more about agriculture education. We also got to stop and tour the capital building in Harrisburg.
On our way home we stopped at Hershey's Chocolate World! This is just a fun way to finish our conference and create lasting memories. I think that this conference can be very educational and rewarding. I am excited to hopefully take my future students to this conference in years to come!
That's for this weeks story with Ms. Sweeten! Until next time.

Anna, How would you articulate why we take students out of school to participate in this event?
